Dave Sevigny of Team GLOCK Shooting Squad Attends Children’s Benefit
TEAM GLOCK Shooting Squad captain Dave Sevigny attended the 9th Annual Toys For Tots, www.toysfortots.org, Marine Corp Reserve Autograph Show & Auction on December 9, 2007. The charity event was presented by Venture Sports at the Santa Fe Mall in Duluth, Georgia.
Patrons who brought an unwrapped toy valued at $10 or more were eligible to receive an autograph from the sports figures who were on hand to support the charity. GLOCK’s pistol shooting champion Dave Sevigny signed along with former MLB and NFL players Marquis Grissom, Craig Skok, Chris Calloway, Buddy Curry, Dewey McClain and Cordell Taylor. Former WCW wrestler William Boulware, Jr. a.k.a. “Rocky King” also signed along with dozens of other sports celebrities. The three day event raised nearly $80,000 for the Toys For Tots charity.
“It was an honor to work with Venture Sports and the athletes who supported this event. The Marine Toys For Tots Foundation is a great cause and it gave us another opportunity to educate people about firearm safety, GLOCK products and shooting sports,” said Sevigny. Last summer, TEAM GLOCK supported an Isabella de Bethencourt Cops 4 Kids charity match (www.posacops4kids.com) which raises money for pediatric cancer research. Sevigny added, “We enjoy helping these charitable organizations whenever possible.”
Show promoter Doug Reid of Venture Sports said “It was a great pleasure having Dave and GLOCK at this years Toys For Tots event. Their presence was very instrumental in the overall success of this years drive. It brought a different dimension which we were lacking and we received a ton of positive feedback from show attendees. The level of professionalism and public relations skills by Dave Sevigny were outstanding and left everyone eagerly anticipating GLOCK’s participation in next years event.”
