Tarheel Canine and the Nasa Goddard Space Center is hosting S.K.I.D.D.S. / CATS Class 94 Sunday - Tuesday, December 7-9, 2008.

S.K.I.D.D.S.- SWAT & K9's Interacting During Deployment School

CATS - CAnine Tactical School

S.K.I.D.D.S. is for SWAT and K9 teams to attend together from the same department or regional SWAT team. CATS is for K9 handlers and patrol officers to attend.

About S.K.I.D.D.S. and CATS

For those that don't understand K9's or have a misconception as to how beneficial K9's can be to a SWAT team or a high risk patrol deployment, S.K.I.D.D.S. / CATS is the answer.

The goal of this 3 day course is to educate and train both the K9 handler and SWAT team members on the deployment of a police dog in a high risk / tactical operation.

Participate in numerous K9 deployment scenarios. Learn the latest K9 tactical tracking, searching, deployment and arrest techniques from the K9 SWAT instructors of S.K.I.D.D.S.

Determine how your police dog functions and how they can be used to better assist you and your department. Train as a team under realistic conditions.

Class will start at 8am on Sunday December 7th at the NASA Center K9 training field

Tuition:
The Tuition for the 3 day class is $450 per student.

From Baltimore: 695 to 295 Baltimore/Wash Parkway South for about 15 miles.
Take Powdermill Road exit and turn left. Take the first right which is Soil Conservation Road to the first left which is Beverdam Road. Drive 1/2 mile and the K-9 training center is on your right

From Washington DC: 395 or 495 / 95 to 295 North Baltimore/Wash Parkway. Take Powdermill Road exit and turn right. Take the first right which is Soil Conservation Road to the first left which is Beverdam Road. Drive 1/2 mile and the K-9 training center is on your right.
